My role at PFI Solution Group is to lead the business, generate new opportunities, uphold our values and create a culture which delivers a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone we work with.
Having founded PFI Solutions, I have had the pleasure of seeing the company develop from a local 3-man operation into a unique “total” signage proposition employing in excess of 50 staff and operating on a truly national basis, providing our customers with a service based on excellence at every level.
Outside of work I love the outdoors, especially walking, running, and skiing and live for time on the beach and the mountains with my wife and kids but equally enjoy spending time socialising with friends and family with some good food and a decent bottle wine!
I joined PFI in June 2014 having spent the previous 15 years as a Sales Manager for PaperCo, a large national paper merchant. Prior to this I had a brief career as a professional cricketer with Nottinghamshire CCC. My role as COO encompasses an overall responsibility for finance, as well as overseeing all other operational aspects of the business, including; production, purchasing, sales and marketing. A key part of my role is to provide management information and support to the departmental managers to ensure that their focus, and that of our staff, is the pursuit of profitable growth, in line with our budgetary expectations. As a board member I’m also involved in the strategic development of the business, which is centred around our increasing our market presence, by a combination of organic growth and potential acquisition of complementary businesses.
I am a keen sportsman and am particularly interested in cricket and football, and whilst I still play both sports (badly!), I’m well and truly at the veteran stage now. My main focus outside work are our 5 young children, all of whom are very active and love playing sport. As a family we enjoy spending our summer holidays caravanning near Nefyn in North Wales.
My experience within the print and signage industry began at an early age when tasked to help out in the family business during numerous school holidays – I look back now at fond memories of times that developed the foundations of my career.
I now have 13 years’ experience of working within the Print and Signage Manufacturing industry. During this time I have gained invaluable knowledge of all aspects of the business and I have been involved in a wide variety of roles and large scale sign projects. Some of the projects that I am particularly proud of include the rebranding of United Utilities, University of Liverpool, Edge Hill University Wayfinding Project, Nottingham Trent University, Liberty Living, University of Manchester, Liberty Living and First Direct Arena.
My current role with PFI & GB Sign Solutions as Divisional Director requires me to co-ordinate all of my key skills in Project & Key Account Management, Business Development and Wayfinding Consultancy. I work closely with the Project, Production and Installation Teams to ensure bespoke projects are delivered on time and strive to exceed all of our customer’s expectations.
In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and three children. Since the tender age of four I have played Rugby and I am still involved today as a Director of Rugby at Sale FC (the boots are not hung up yet). A keen sportsman at heart!
I joined PFI in 2011 and my past experience supports my diverse role which includes HR Advisor, Quality Manager / ISO-9001 Auditor, Health & Safety Advisor and Office Manager supporting the Admin and Sales Team. I have 30 years’ extensive managerial experience gained in fast moving manufacturing and Operational facilities including Walls, Fox’s Biscuits, Hays and G4S. My previous roles have included Shift Manager, Production Manager and Operations Manager and have allowed me to develop a proven track record of building high performing cross functional teams through coaching, individual development and succession planning.

I enjoy keeping fit and healthy and I have a love of all styles of dance that began at an early age with Latin and Ballroom lessons from the age of seven. I was previously an instructor with Dance Club International and took part in many competitions across the country earning numerous medals and awards. I enjoy socialising with friends – if there is loud music and a dance floor – that’s where you will find me
I have 30 years’ experience of working within the Signage industry in production and installation management. I have gained a wealth of valuable knowledge of all manufacturing processes and installation procedures, giving me the ability to work with the sales and production teams to match creative sign design with a thorough understanding of production capabilities.
For PFI & GB Sign Solutions my role as Production Manager requires me to ensure the accurate scheduling of all customer orders and projects to defined timescales whilst at the same time maintaining that the required Quality Standards are achieved throughout each of the processes used within the manufacturing process. I am continually assessing quality, implementing control standards, standard working practices and embedding a culture of continuous improvement within the production team.
I have worked in the signage industry for 18 years, my starting point in the industry was as a PA to the Sales Director and from there progressed into Field Sales and then to National Accounts Manager for a leading signage company. I work on all aspects of signage from health and safety signage, projects working with major construction organisations through to full signage re-brands. I pride myself on customer service at all times and strive for long term working relationships with all my clients.
I am a self-confessed die-pressed signage nerd! I love it! For the past few years I have been growing our die-pressed market within the Rail Industry, with great success. We are now being sought to commission brand new designed Die-Pressed Rail Plates, which is a rarity! I work closely with all the major suppliers to the Rail Industry and have built strong relationships with them through our commitment to quality and service.
As a company, we have strongly invested in order to maintain this standard. It is a really exciting time in the Rail Industry and I am proud to be part of the new infrastructure that will be of benefit to many generations to come.
This is my first time at a sign manufacturing company after starting out in the signage world as the first PFI apprentice. I initially worked within warehousing so this is great opportunity and a different experience. My current role is admin based, which involves purchasing, managing supplier relations as well as client database management and general administration. I applied for this position as I wanted to do something different so as to challenge myself and gain a whole new experience.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy going out with my friends and generally being social
I have been in the sign and display industry since 2004 and in that time I have experience of carrying out numerous roles within varying size Companies. I am an experienced buyer an estimator and I am keen to see the development of the Group with improving structure and planning to complement our growth.
I have experience in project management of some large national rollouts for British Waterways, Iceland Frozen Foods, Co Op Food, Screwfix and Farmfoods to name a few which I believe enables me to have an alternative insight when it comes to understand how a job should, or could, be designed, manufactured and installed.
In my spare time (when I get some), I enjoy spending quality time with my three children and partner.
I have now worked in the printing Industry for 32 years, starting in silk screen and moving in large format digital print. I have now been involved in large format, grand format, flat bed and roll to toll digital printing for the last 20 years. This has all been in the POS and signage market place.
Within those years I have brought in new machines to the UK market place including one of the first production flat beds, and the only company to have the largest flatbed to print in a single pass in the UK.
