Darren McMurray CEO
Description of role and purpose.

My role at PFI Solution Group is to lead the business, generate new opportunities, uphold our values and create a culture which delivers a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone we work with.

Having founded PFI Solutions, I have had the pleasure of seeing the company develop from a local 3-man operation into a unique “total” signage proposition employing in excess of 50 staff and operating on a truly national basis, providing our customers with a service based on excellence at every level.

Outside of work I love the outdoors, especially walking, running, and skiing and live for time on the beach and the mountains with my wife and kids but equally enjoy spending time socialising with friends and family with some good food and a decent bottle wine!

Steve Bramhall Chief Operating Officer, ACMA  CGMA
Description of role and purpose.

I joined PFI in June 2014 having spent the previous 15 years as a Sales Manager for PaperCo, a large national paper merchant. Prior to this I had a brief career as a professional cricketer with Nottinghamshire CCC. My role as COO encompasses an overall responsibility for finance, as well as overseeing all other operational aspects of the business, including; production, purchasing, sales and marketing. A key part of my role is to provide management information and support to the departmental managers to ensure that their focus, and that of our staff, is the pursuit of profitable growth, in line with our budgetary expectations. As a board member I’m also involved in the strategic development of the business, which is centred around our increasing our market presence, by a combination of organic growth and potential acquisition of complementary businesses.

I am a keen sportsman and am particularly interested in cricket and football, and whilst I still play both sports (badly!), I’m well and truly at the veteran stage now. My main focus outside work are our 5 young children, all of whom are very active and love playing sport. As a family we enjoy spending our summer holidays caravanning near Nefyn in North Wales.

Jonathan Keep Managing Director
Description of role and purpose.

My experience within the print and signage industry began at an early age when tasked to help out in the family business during numerous school holidays – I look back now at fond memories of times that developed the foundations of my career.

I now have 13 years’ experience of working within the Print and Signage Manufacturing industry. During this time I have gained invaluable knowledge of all aspects of the business and I have been involved in a wide variety of roles and large scale sign projects. Some of the projects that I am particularly proud of include the rebranding of United Utilities, University of Liverpool, Edge Hill University Wayfinding Project, Nottingham Trent University, Liberty Living, University of Manchester, Liberty Living and First Direct Arena.

My current role with PFI & GB Sign Solutions as Divisional Director requires me to co-ordinate all of my key skills in Project & Key Account Management, Business Development and Wayfinding Consultancy. I work closely with the Project, Production and Installation Teams to ensure bespoke projects are delivered on time and strive to exceed all of our customer’s expectations.

In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and three children. Since the tender age of four I have played Rugby and I am still involved today as a Director of Rugby at Sale FC (the boots are not hung up yet). A keen sportsman at heart!

Shirley Jones Office Manager
Description of role and purpose.

I joined PFI in 2011 and my past experience supports my diverse role which includes HR Advisor, Quality Manager / ISO-9001 Auditor, Health & Safety Advisor and Office Manager supporting the Admin and Sales Team. I have 30 years’ extensive managerial experience gained in fast moving manufacturing and Operational facilities including Walls, Fox’s Biscuits, Hays and G4S. My previous roles have included Shift Manager, Production Manager and Operations Manager and have allowed me to develop a proven track record of building high performing cross functional teams through coaching, individual development and succession planning.

I enjoy keeping fit and healthy and I have a love of all styles of dance that began at an early age with Latin and Ballroom lessons from the age of seven. I was previously an instructor with Dance Club International and took part in many competitions across the country earning numerous medals and awards. I enjoy socialising with friends – if there is loud music and a dance floor – that’s where you will find me

Gary Tomlinson Project Manager
Description of role and purpose.

I have 30 years’ experience of working within the Signage industry in production and installation management.   I have gained a wealth of valuable knowledge of all manufacturing processes and installation procedures, giving me the ability to work with the sales and production teams to match creative sign design with a thorough understanding of production capabilities.

For PFI & GB Sign Solutions my role as Production Manager requires me to ensure the accurate scheduling of all customer orders and projects to defined timescales whilst at the same time maintaining that the required Quality Standards are achieved throughout each of the processes used within the manufacturing process. I am continually assessing quality, implementing control standards, standard working practices and embedding a culture of continuous improvement within the production team.

Sue Podmore Sales Consultant
Description of role and purpose.

I have worked in the signage industry for 18 years, my starting point in the industry was as a PA to the Sales Director and from there progressed into Field Sales and then to National Accounts Manager for a leading signage company. I work on all aspects of signage from health and safety signage, projects working with major construction organisations through to full signage re-brands. I pride myself on customer service at all times and strive for long term working relationships with all my clients.

Julie Crawford Account Manager
Description of role and purpose.

I have worked in the sign industry for 17 years. My career has taken me through various roles, including purchasing, account management, project management and installation management. I consider myself to have a good all round knowledge of the industry.

I joined PFI 4 years ago as a member of the key-account team.

I love travel and live for my holidays, so my spare time is spent planning my next adventure!


Alison Ramtulla Account Manager
Description of role and purpose.

I am a self-confessed die-pressed signage nerd! I love it! For the past few years I have been growing our die-pressed market within the Rail Industry, with great success. We are now being sought to commission brand new designed Die-Pressed Rail Plates, which is a rarity! I work closely with all the major suppliers to the Rail Industry and have built strong relationships with them through our commitment to quality and service.

As a company, we have strongly invested in order to maintain this standard. It is a really exciting time in the Rail Industry and I am proud to be part of the new infrastructure that will be of benefit to many generations to come.

Keith Pownall Production Supervisor
Description of role and purpose.

I have been in the large format print industry for 28 years, starting as a screen printer at the age of 16. In this time I have witnessed the technological evolution within the sign print industry into its present state and have gained experience throughout.

I joined PFI in order to expand my knowledge in the fabrication and fitting side of signage as well as wanting to be a part of one of the biggest large-format printers in country, dealing with print and production on a grand scale. I view my role as a direct link between management and production, looking after everything from pre-press right through to dispatch and everything in between..!

In my spare time I am a keen golfer and enjoy spending a lot of time with my family and friends.

My favourite quote is “no one owes you a damn thing….get off your ass and earn it”……..Clint Eastwood.

Matthew Farrell Administration
Description of role and purpose.

This is my first time at a sign manufacturing company after starting out in the signage world as the first PFI apprentice. I initially worked within warehousing so this is great opportunity and a different experience. My current role is admin based, which involves purchasing, managing supplier relations as well as client database management and general administration. I applied for this position as I wanted to do something different so as to challenge myself and gain a whole new experience.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy going out with my friends and generally being social

Mike Sharples Business Development Manager
Description of role and purpose.

I joined PFI in October 2017, with almost 20 years’ experience in the exhibition sector. Whether it is a modular unit such as a banner stand, pop up stand or a full set of graphics for a shell scheme or a conference, I am able to work with you and find the best solution for your needs and budget. The quality and diversity of print that we produce was one of the main factors that brought me to PFI as a business development manager.

Outside of PFI I have a very strong interest in magic and have performed for Mary McAleese (the 8th President of Ireland), Zara Philips and several members of NASA including Commander Mark Kelly, the commander of the space shuttle.

Phil Richardson Project Sales Consultant
Description of role and purpose.

I am an experienced project manager with over 25 years’ experience in the sign and label industry. I joined PFI to increase my experience and contribute my knowledge of Retail and Restaurant/Pub signage to the team. As well as this, working on large and complex projects is something I relish about my role.

Throughout my career I am proud to have gained a number of achievements. Firstly, designing and implementing all the internal and external graphics for Virgin Trains fleet of tilting trains. Project managing the signage for over 750 sites for Subway, as well as, 50 Sites for Pizza Hut and winning a service award from the Pizza Hut team. Project managing signage installs to over 70 pubs in the UK and Europe, graphics for Nordisk Aviation, installation for over 300 cars for Bentley Motors.

When the weekend arrives I like driving, travelling as well as golf, if time allows, and going on walks with my dog. I also help out with my wife’s dog boarding business.

Ruth Haunch Project Manager
Description of role and purpose.

I have worked within the signage industry for over 30 years. Over the course of my career, my roles have ranged from purchasing, sales, installation and management. In order to help build the company into one of the leaders of the signage industry, my role involves liaising with the customer at every step of the way. We are known for working with clients from initial enquiries through to a completed job.

In my spare time I look after my 3 horses.
